COMPOSITION MATERIALS Plastic Abrasives Type II UREA

TYPE II UREA - PLASTI-GRIT® PLASTIC BLAST MEDIA These blasting abrasives are generally used for paint stripping, deburring, and cleaning. They have a high stripping rate and are used in a wide variety of industries.
They are manufactured from 100% recycled materials at our solar-powered plant in Milford, CT. Urea is the fastest and most versatile plastic media for paint stripping & coating removal from cars, aircraft, trucks, trailers, trains, vans, boats and buses. Type II Urea is approved by U.S. Air Force for stripping air frames, and meets the requirements of Mil-Spec MIL-P-85891A, approved for use by the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force. We supply industries that include automotive repair & restoration, aircraft maintenance, manufacturing and paint & coatings removal.



COMPOSITION MATERIALS Plastic Abrasives TYPE III MELAMINE

TYPE III MELAMINE - PLASTI-GRIT® PLASTIC BLAST MEDIA These blasting abrasives are generally used for paint stripping, deburring, and cleaning. They have a high stripping rate and are used in a wide variety of industries. They are manufactured from 100% recycled materials at our solar-powered plant in Milford, CT. Melamine is the hardest and most aggressive plastic media type, making it effective for mold cleaning; stripping paints, primers & coatings from steel and hard surfaces; and removing grit & grime from engines, turbines and parts. In mold cleaning, Melamine does not damage molds and is therefore an excellent replacement to glass beads and other hard abrasives. Type III meets the requirements of Mil-Spec MIL-P-85891A and is approved for use by the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force.



Corn Cob Media

Corn cob media is used in the dry finishing processes. Corn cob media is often used in the final stage of a tumbling process. In tumbling and vibratory finishing applications, the primary purpose for using corncob grit is to dry metal parts. Corncob can also deburr and polish parts such as: Ball Bearings, Pipe Fittings, Nuts and Bolts, Springs, Die castings, Golf Club Heads, and More.



Crushed Glass

Crushed glass media is a substitute for silica sand and can be used as a dry blasting media or combined with water for use in slurry blasting.



ERVIN and METALTEC Steel Shot and Grit

Steel shot and grit is a durable blasting abrasive that offers high resistance to impact fatigue. When using steel shot or grit in a blast room or cabinet, it can be recovered for reuse, making it cost-effective and efficient.



FROHN Cut Wire

FROHN cut wire has a consistent size and shape and can clean and peen when residues from ferrous blasting abrasives need to be avoided. It also produces a dust-free surface.



HAMMONS Walnut Shell

Hammons Walnut Shells Blast Media is best for removing paint or baked-on carbon deposits from ferrous metals (like iron, steel) or to clean internal parts. Use this walnut-shell abrasive to clean ferrous metals or internal parts; any of the soft abrasive material left inside the working part will break down with minimal damage.

NATRIUM BiCarb Soda

NATRIUM BiCarb Soda is a non-destructive blasting abrasive that eliminates environmentally hazardous chemicals. It can be used wet or dry to remove paint, corrosion, and many other coatings. Soda blasting is a method of removing surface contaminants and coatings by using sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Compressed air from specialized blasting machines propel particles against the surface to be cleaned. As the sodium bicarbonate particles come in contact with the surface, it removes the contaminant or coating. The sodium bicarbonate and blasting machine work in unison to perform this removal process in a nondestructive manner. The soda blasting is usually done in open air, booth or cabinet.



POTTERS Glass Beads

Glass bead media is a classic in the blasting industry. Delong Equipment Company supplies a variety of glass beads to suit various blasting needs. Glass beads are manufactured from high-grade glass, contain no free silica, and are made into preformed spherical shapes. They produce a smooth and bright satin finish and are extremely hard, chemically inert, and environmentally friendly. Glass beads are a popular abrasive in both wet and dry blasting. Glass beads are primarily used in blasting cabinets for honing, polishing, peening, blending, finishing, removing light burrs, and cleaning more light foreign matter.



SAINT-GOBAIN, ZIRSHOT, ZIRBLAST, MICROBLAST Ceramic Shot and Grit

Generally used for surface cleaning of rubber and plastic molds, ceramic shot blasting abrasives have a high density which ensures superior peening.



STARBLAST Staurolite Sand

Increased hardness and fine grain size make Starblast Staurolite Sand perfect for blasting new steel for mill scale removal.



TRIEBACHER Aluminum Oxide

A widely used blasting abrasive. Aluminum oxide is lightweight, fast-cutting, and cost-effective.



WGI Garnet

WGI Garnet is an efficient cutting abrasive that is a common replacement for silica sand in blasting.
